SHOPPING

First Friday Weekend in Kansas City means abundant shopping. Every first weekend, our collection of antique malls opens in the historic West Bottoms neighborhood. You will find local KC maker goods as well as unique oddities. There is something for everyone. Not into antiques? Make your way just south of downtown to the Westport neighborhood, where you can find several local shops, including Mills Record Company, the Bunker, and more. And, if not for at least the view, you should make your way to our Country Club Plaza, renowned for it's beautiful Spanish architecture, you'll find lots of classic retail stores and local finds.

CULTURE

This year the festival falls on what we call "First Friday" weekend. Each First Friday, from around 4pm-9pm or so, Kansas Citians take to the streets of the Crossroads Arts District (where the heart of the festival is located), wandering the local art galleries, jumping in line for unique food trucks, soaking in fresh exhibitions, street performances, live music, dance parties, and more.
